Welcome to Grosvenor Park Miniature Railway Website. GPMR is a 7¼" gauge railway located only a few minutes walk from Chester's historic city centre. The railway, built in 1996 to commemorate the centenary of the Duke of Westminster's railway at nearby Eaton Hall, is popular with young and old alike and has become one of Chester's top tourist attractions.

We operate steam and diesel hauled trains, on a ¼ mile circuit around the lake in Chester's Grosvenor Park. Click here for a location plan, courtesy of Multimap.

NEW WEB SHOP GOES FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH Our new web shop is now four years old this April and is as popular as ever. We are now fulfilling nearly four thousand orders a year and still growing. The web shop is light, bright and fun to use. We stock over 900 different Thomas The Tank, Chuggington and Ivor The Engine products. We also stock Paddington Bear items for the girls. We have railway items for Dad and Grandad and are now starting a range of Enamelled Signs incorporating railway scenes and advertising. Why not have a look now. Click on thomas to take you directly to our shop.www.thomasthetankshop.com

You can either order direct or note what you want, and email us on Contact Us and we will arrange collection from the railway saving you the delivery charge.

NEW THOMAS RIDE IS HERE!! The latest addition to our railway is an electric Thomas ride. I bought it from another railway in the south of England in May 2008 and brought it back on the back of my loco trailer. You should have seen the looks we got, with cars pulling alongside of us on the motorway to get a better look and lots of children waving. Rides are 50p for one ride or £1 for three. Over the last three years it has proved to be a popular item.

CHILDREN'S SELF DRIVE TRAM!!

NEW IN AUGUST 2011 we now have a new ride for the younger children a Drive Your Own "Trevor The Tram" it is £1 for two rides up and down its track and can take two children at a time, it is proving to be very popular with the kids and you should see the look on their faces when they are driving it themselves. Just look at the picture of Andrew & Lewis. Children up to the age of Ten can drive the Tram up and down a short length of track.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES!!

Why not have a birthday party for your little ones birthday. You can hire the miniature railway for an hour for as little as £35. You have exclusive use of the train for the hour and can have as many rides as you can fit in during that time. Contact us on the number above or call at the railway for details.

What a year 2011 has been, we had a fantastic Easter and then a mixed May and June, you just cannot trust the British weather. August has been pretty good and we are hoping for a fine bank holiday weekend to finish the school holidays. Does dad want to drive a steam engine? We will be running 1/2 day driver courses this year again if you want more details please give us a ring or call at the station for more details. And remember due to public demand we are now open two extra days a week from 1st May to 30th September, Tuesdays and Thursdays 12.00pm to 4.30pm. Steve Hardin August 2011.
